Artist’s Books: A Journey to CODEX IX
The artist’s book transcends its traditional role as a vehicle for text, evolving into a multisensory sequence of spaces and moments where materiality and concept converge. This curated selection presents nine distinctive projects by artists invited by Machineri, and, together with the work and management of Magdalena Cordero of CodaPress Chile, they come together to represent a diverse perspective at the prestigious CODEX Foundation Book Art Fair.
This exhibition, which will be held from Saturday, February 7 to Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Oakland Marriott City Center, highlights the book as an autonomous artistic medium that challenges the boundaries between the visual arts and publishing practice.
We are proud to present works that explore intermediality, poetic interventions, and the physical transformation of the page, offering a critical perspective on contemporary artist’s book production in the diaspora and beyond.
Among the invited artists, all Chilean, contributing to this exhibition are Jessica Castillo, Jacki Praxedes, Andrea Hauer, Tamara Jacquin, Gonzalo Opazo, Paola Podestá, Marcelo Vergara, Oscar Barra, and Paulina Yañez. Alongside them, Magdalena Cordero presents its own artist’s books, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the project.
